Flekkerøy is a small
island group situated outside the town of
Kristiansand, and is also part of the
municipality of Kristiansand. Including the
surrounding skerries, the island covers an area
of approx. 7.3 square kilometres. As of January
1998 approx. 2 000 people live on the island. In
1989 a subsea tunnel was constructed which
connected the island to the mainland.
